Being Sauna began with a simple observation: bathroom remodeling is one of the most-searched, least-transparent purchases a homeowner ever makes. Most companies hide their prices until a salesperson is sitting in the kitchen. The industry’s signature complaint — repeated in review after review — is the same-day pressure close: a quote that starts absurdly high and “falls” all evening until somebody signs. We built the opposite service, on purpose, and this page explains exactly how it works.
What we are: a free homeowner service that researches local markets town by town, publishes honest cost ranges for wet-area bathroom work, and connects homeowners with vetted independent local contractors — for conversions, shower and tub replacements, walk-in showers and full remodels. We are not a contractor, and we do not install bathrooms.
How specialists are vetted: before an installer takes a single Being Sauna project, we check for active licensing where the trade requires it, current insurance, and genuine wet-area specialisation — we do not list general handymen for replacement work. Every specialist also agrees, as a condition of staying in the network, to our no-pressure standard: quotes in writing, itemised, valid beyond the visit, with no same-day close tactics. A specialist who pressures a homeowner does not get a second project.
How we make money: specialists pay us for the connection. Homeowners pay nothing for the service, and the written quote you receive is the contractor’s full price — there is no Being Sauna fee added on top, and the contractor cannot raise their price to “cover” us without it showing against the published ranges on this site.
Why small towns first: our coverage opens town by town, smallest and most-underserved first, because that is where homeowners had the worst options: metro-focused national brands that won’t drive out, and directory pages that list everyone and stand behind no one. Each town on our areas page has been researched individually and has an assigned specialist before its page is published.
