How we vet contractors, what they must commit to, and how to independently verify their license in your state.

BeingSauna works with a network of licensed plumbers and bathroom remodeling contractors across the United States. This page explains who is in that network, how they are vetted, and what standards they must meet to receive referrals from us.

How to Verify Your Contractor’s License

You should always independently verify any contractor’s license — ours included. Every state has an online license verification portal. When the contractor arrives for your free in-home assessment, ask for their license number and look it up yourself.
Common state licensing portals:

Texas: tsbpe.texas.gov
Florida: myfloridalicense.com
California: cslb.ca.gov
New York: dos.ny.gov
Pennsylvania: dos.pa.gov
Ohio: com.ohio.gov
Georgia: verify.sos.ga.gov
Illinois: idfpr.illinois.gov
Michigan: lara.michigan.gov
Arizona: roc.az.gov

All other states: see our state pages for the exact verification URL.

What Contractors Commit to When Working With Us

Free in-home assessment — no charge for the visit or the written quote, regardless of whether the homeowner proceeds.
Written fixed-price quote — itemized, with model name, scope of plumbing work, warranty terms, and final price. No verbal estimates. No price changes after signing.
Permit compliance — all required local and state permits are pulled by the contractor, not by the homeowner.
Written warranty — handed to the homeowner before leaving on installation day. Not mailed. Not emailed. On paper, in hand.
Complete cleanup — old tub removed and hauled away. Work area cleaned before leaving.
No pressure tactics — contractors may not use high-pressure sales techniques with seniors. Any complaint about pressure tactics triggers an immediate review.

What Happens if There Is a Problem

If you have a complaint about a contractor referred through BeingSauna — installation quality, a dispute over the written quote, unprofessional conduct, or anything else — contact us at [email protected]. We investigate every complaint and take the following steps:
  1. Contact the contractor within 24 hours with the complaint details.
  2. Request the contractor resolve the issue directly with you within 7 days.
  3. If unresolved, escalate to the contractor’s state licensing board on your behalf.
  4. Remove contractors with unresolved legitimate complaints from the referral network.
You always have direct recourse through your state contractor licensing board independent of any action we take. The licensing board contact information is on every state page of this site.
